STUDY OF JAVANESE DIALECT USED BY THE WORKING CLASS
IN (CARPENTERS,SERVANTS AND FARMERS) IN PANTENAN PANCENG GRESIK
1. Statement of problem
Based on
the background of this study, the writer formulates the problem as the
following :
1.1
What kind of dialect of the
Javanese language is used by the working class in pantenan panceng gresik.
1.2
What word of the dialect are
used by the working class in Pantenan panceng gresik.
1.3
In what situation are the words
of the pantenan panceng gresik used by
the working class in pantenan panceng gresik.
2.
Method of research
The
method of the research is explained in this chapter. The contents of this
chapter are design. Source of the data, population, sample, technique of
collecting data, and data analysis.
2.1
Design
The design of the research is
descriptive qualitative. It means the study merely describes somewhat based on
the reference book. There is no manipulation of variables. And no tasting of
hypothesis. It only contains some notes about the word used by the working
class in Pantenan Panceng Gresik as their exclusive dialect.
2.2 Source of
data
The source of data in this
research waste people who lived in Pantenan village, Kecamatan Panceng,
Kabupaten Gresik east java.
2.3 Population and sample
2.3.1
Population
The population of this research
was the working class in Pantenan Panceng village, Gresik who use Pantenan
dialect of this Javanese language.
2.3.2 Sample
and sampling technique
In this research, the writer used
random sampling. It was used in order to get informants. There were 10 small
divisions of village in Pantenan. The writer took 5 small divisions of village
, the working class included carpenter, servant, and farmer.
2.3.3 Technique of collecting data
The successes of failure of
research depends on the technique of the research. The techniques that the
writer used in her research are as follows:
2.3.3.1
Interview
The writer interviewed the informants and noted down the
data directly on answer sheets.
2.3.3.2
Questionnaire
The writer gave written questions and the informants
were asked to answer the question on a answer sheet.
2.4
Data Analysis
The data being analyzed were the
data about the Pantenan dialect used by the working class in Pantenan Gresik,
I.e. the words and the situation in which the word were used by the working
class in Pantenan Panceng Gresik. The data obtained from the informants
analyzed through procedures in accordance with the objective of the study
,which are to answer:
4.1 The first problem , to find out
the kind of dialect of the Javanese language used by the working class in
Pantenan Gresik to do this the writer based on the theory of Francis
(1958:48)concerning the kind of dialect as stated in chapter 11.
4.2 The second problem, to find out
the words of the Javanese dialect used by the working class in Pantenan Panceng
Gresik, then analyzed by the categorizing in to parts of speech of the
collected data.
4.3
The third problem, to find out
the situation in which the words of the dialect was used by the working class
in Pantenan Panceng Gresik.
This was solved by knowing the place
where the dialect was used, then deciding what situation the place was related
to.
The words of Pantenan Panceng Gresik
dialect used by the working class in Pantenan Panceng Gresik, are shown in four
tables, table 1 contains nouns,table11 verb, table 111 adjective, table 1V
personal pronouns, each table is divided in to three columns; columns 1 shows
the Pantenan dialect, columns 11 shows the Javanese language and columns
III the English equivalent.
